I’m a fan of Dr. Martens so naturally I would love mini Docs for the tiny humans! How cute are the classic Dr. Martens silhouettes sized down in miniature versions? Too cute to resist. For Spring/Summer 2014, the classics offer new prints in a range of sizes for babies, toddlers and juniors. Also, a new Mary Jane style with a velcro strap has been added to the range.
For those taking their first steps, the 1461 3-eye shoe and 1460 8-eye boot offer a sturdy sole combined with soft and durable leather. The 1460 boot style has a side zip, as well as laces and come in sizes 3-9 (UK). When they get older, there are Junior versions, both the toddler and Junior styles are available in the core brand colors of Cherry Red and Black Softy T leather, with additional seasonal colors and materials on offer. They are available in sizes 10-2 (UK).
Last but not least, there are also crib shoes for babies. These have been made to replicate a 1460 8-eye boot, but with a soft sole and carefully considered attention to detail. The famous DM sole pattern is faithfully replicated on the base of the booties, with a ‘When I Grow Up I Want To Be A 1460’ message. All the key identifying Dr. Martens features are still here, with the yellow stitch and fabric heel tab at the back. These styles are available for both boys and girls in Black and Cherry Red with additional seasonal options, in sizes 0-3 (UK). Packaged in a miniature version of a traditional Dr. Martens shoebox with a ribbon and gift tag, these booties would make the perfect ‘first pair’ present for any baby.
