I was introduced to Freshly Picked by my friend Tracy Nguyen recently and now I am obsessed with their cute little moccasins! What do you do when you can not find the right pair of moccs for your child? If you’re creative like Susan Petersen, creator of Freshly Picked, you can make your own! Susan started making moccs in 2009, during that time being a stay-at-home mom with her husband in college money was tight but after working deals with her brother she gathered $200 and bought her first hide of leather and taught herself how to sew a pair of moccasins.
This past January Freshly Picked aired on Shark Tank, where Susan made a deal with one shark, Damon. Since the airing, Freshly Picked has been thriving and just released their entire Spring 2014 collection with new limited edition colors and a super cute camo print which I adore.
The moccs are well-made, super light and easy to get in. You know most kids have chubby feet and shoes are hard to put on and take off but these moccs have an elastic at the opening so those chubby feet are easily housed and removed. And Iove all the bright neon colors for summer, super fun!
Each pair of moccs is handmade with love in the USA and retails for $60 each. Shop the collection here.
