So happy that Nike is launching an exclusive shoes for the kids! “Following the live launch of Kevin Durant’s seventh signature shoe earlier this week – the KD7 – Nike reveals the first exclusive colorway for young athletes.” The KD7 Carnival pack consists of two colorways that were inspired by the vibrant color palette of summer carnivals, designed exclusively for the kids. Pretty cool right?
“Nike is focused on designing performance footwear for young athletes, from grade school, preschool and toddlers, that unlocks their athletic potential,” said Michael Sarantakos, Nike’s senior designer of Young Athlete Performance Footwear. “The key for Nike when engineering the KD7 footwear for kids was to focus the technology on flexibility to help kids learn to move and enjoy the sport of basketball.”
The Nike KD7 Carnival, exclusively for young athletes in sizes Infant through 7Y, will be available globally beginning August 9th from nike.com and select retail locations.

The kids’ versions of the KD7 have been designed with distinct series of flex grooves across the forefoot of the pressure-mapped outsole to provide greater flexibility. Nike has years of experience in natural motion design established by the Nike Free technology.
Like the adult versions, the Young Athlete KD7 colorways feature design elements created using personal cues from Durant including a silhouette of his home state of Maryland embedded in the outsole; and a forefoot strap with the names of his mother Wanda, his grandmother Barbara, his father Wayne and his brother Tony.
