Ever wonder what a well-dressed kid’s closet looks like? We ventured into Coltrane Curtis and Lisa Chu’s child, Ellington’s nursery and got a tour of his closet! Coltrane is the Managing Partner/Founder of Team Epiphany and Lisa is also the Managing Partner of the company. Coltrane and Lisa are good friend’s of mine and when I decided to launch this feature, I immediately thought to feature Ellington as the first subject since he’s so stylish and cute. Coltrane explains that his style is “Timeless Hood Rich” while Lisa’s is “Casual Mommy Fresh”. I know personally that Coltrane loves shopping and dressing up Ellington every morning and we can always expect an #ootd post on his Instagram.
Ellington’s shoe closet is well stocked with lots of shoes from Jordans to Mark McNairys to Timberlands that will probably put shame to some of the adults. His clothing stash is not weak neither, you can expect anything from Comme Des Garçons Play to Mini Rodini to Polo, there’s a bit of everything in there. Check out our feature!
mini: When is Ellington’s birthday?
Coltrane: 11.11.11
mini: How many pairs of shoes does he have?
Coltrane: Ellington has over 200 pairs of shoes, sneakers and boots. He currently wears an 8c, but he has inventory thru an 11c.
mini: Describe his style.
Coltrane: Street Corner Prep. He is a functional/comfortable spin on traditional preppy Ralph Lauren looks, we go hard on the sweatpants paired with oxfords and cable knit cardigan tops.
mini: What are a few of his favorite brands?
Coltrane: We love Nununu Baby, Nico Nico, Bitzkids, Shampoodle, Crewcuts, Ruff + Huddle, Polo (tops only) and Zara Kids.
mini: How much do you spend on his closet per month?
Coltrane: This question is going to get me in major trouble with the wife. Lol. I spend way less than I used too, let’s say that. I now spend more on fewer conversational pieces, about 500-750 a month.
