A few months back at my good friend DJ Neil Armstrong’s “Dinner & a Mixtape” dinner party, my friend Sophia Chang put me on to Sky Raquel Tecson’s name. We sat next to each other and I was getting ready to post on @minilicious’ Instagram when Sophia was like, “That’s your account too? You have to check out my friend, photographer Ja Tecson’s baby gurl!” And that was how it all started.

After that, Sophia introduced me to Ja and said we should work together since he’s an amazing photographer, I agree. We have yet to work on anything for nitrolicious.com but so glad we did for min:licious! I officially met Ja and baby Sky when I was in Los Angeles last month on business with Beats by Dr. Dre for Hello Kitty Con. We were both at the Jason Markk x Hello Kitty launch party and I was immediately smitten by baby Sky. She was so adorable and was definitely the star of the event, everyone was obsessed with her. During that brief encounter, I knew she had to be featured on mini:licious closets, and since Ja is such an amazing photographer, it’s a given I had him shoot it. And the results are amazing of course. I’m even more obsessed with Sky now, can’t wait to meet her again!

Sky’s mama Bev is an Operations Manager at an investment management firm in Beverly Hills. She, like a lot of full-time working moms, feels the guilt when leaving Sky at home to fulfill her career goals, but admits that it keeps her balanced and makes for a better mommy to Sky when she is home. Ja is a freelance photographer who loves life, people, and positive vibes. He currently works with Nike, Stussy, Staple Clothing, Urban Outfitters, In4mation, and many more. Sky is his muse!
