When a child is born everyone from the parents to family and friends are in joy, especially when he/she is healthy and perfect. But some babies and parents are less fortunate, so I want to introduce baby Leni.
Leni turned one in April but when she was just 4 months old, she was diagnosed with acute megakaryoblastic leukemia (AML-M7), a rare form of pediatric bone marrow cancer. It represents approximately 1% of all leukemias during childhood and has an incidence of 0.5% per million per year. She is of Taiwanese-Chinese and Anglo-Ashkenazi Jewish descent.
Leni’s parents is a mutual friend of mine and it’s heartbreaking just to hear about it, I’m here to lend a helping hand and spread the word and hope you do so too. We all know that going in and out of the hospital costs a lot and medical insurance doesn’t cover everything, so if you want to help click here.
You can also buy the LOVE snapback for $30, a portion of each sale will go to Hope & Heroes, which funds the childhood cancer research at Columbia University Medical Center where Leni was treated. Sweet baby Leni rocks the hat so well, don’t we think? Wishing Leni a fast track to recovery!
